Well Connected ?

The Top 10 Insights we learnt from our latest workshop

Our thanks to all those who participated and booked on to 'Well Connected' to make it a great success.

But what did we learn?

Well the theory is true - building rapport and making a good connection with people is as important a skill now as it has ever been.

Our top 10 insights from participants at the event:

1. Asking the right (and powerful) questions can be more effective than talking about yourself!
2. Listen, listen and then listen some more - the art of listening is critical. The genuine interest you show someone else will be easily reciprocated in the relationship.
3. There are specific rapport skills that can be learnt to improve your effectiveness.
4. We all have different ways of communicating, taking in information and making decisions. Being aware of that and tuning it to the right channel for your conversation will make a dramatic impact.
5. We are hard wired to respond to body language. Don't ignore it - use it.
6. It is really achievable to build great rapport easily and quickly in a small group or one to one situation.
7. Being yourself and being authentic matters - people will spot when you're not a mile off.
8. Be intelligent - look out for the impact you have on others. If you're not sure ask! If you don't know what you don't know how will you ever??
9. Don't assume what others' motives are. You may be surprised at what is really going on for them. Asking open questions helps.
10.Take the time! Don't expect results if you don't invest the time in relationships.
