What are you Voting for today?

Where are you steering your team or organisation?

Today is a momentous day for the UK with local and European election both being contested.

The question is what are you voting for, not who. In many respects the who is less important. Today people will have a chance to express themselves and hopefully have some choice in voting for what they want in their political landscape.

So what have we been voting for? In other words, what have you been allowing to happen within your team or office? Where have you been proactive and said no to something to create the space & opportunity for something better or more desired?

Here is a quick look at what we've been up to at the half way point of 2009:

Very early into the year, we had the chance to support the ?birth? of a brand new Leadership Team. Not only were we very privileged to be supporting the Executive Team of the Customer Directorate at British Airways, we had a great insight into UK Plc and what is really going on in the hearts and minds of executives across the country.  The economic backdrop is very tough, and what we learnt was that of equal relevance was the creative consensus and ambition of an executive team.

We've also been working with a large Public Sector organisation who've decided to move house. Specifically, this business is concentrating on rationalising its operation and a working hard with its people to create a fit for purpose culture built to last and to succeed. While moving house is often cited as one of the most stressful life experiences, we've come to appreciate that creating a home is more about appreciation for your dreams and values and importantly those of others.

We are working with a tenacious and determined Executive Team with the Transport industry who are working with both their parent company and their leadership community to 're-draw' the rule book of how they operate while remaining anchored to their customer promise.

....and we've managed to help some very smart people in the Telecoms industry set out a road map of their future for their people and their customers.

As well as helping clients directly we?ve been thinking, writing and being....

Highlights include:

  • Partnering with Beyond the Deal - Mergers & Acquisition Integration Specialists. See Perfect Partnership Article
  • Working with Leaders and Managers coaching 1:1
  • Helping Leaders get to grips with what 'Authentic Leadership' might really mean for them
  • Creating a Senior Operators Network for Leaders who run large scale and complex operations.
  • Using some of our heritage of Ideas & Innovation to help organisations navigate the recession while remain focused on their potential.
